disabling door chime
hey, i've been working to put my mom's electric scooter lift in the back of my 94 accord lx wagon, and i like to have the doors open so i can get to things easier and hear the radio. but that annoying ass "your keys are in the ignition with the door open" chime doesn't shut off after any period of time. is there any way i can either disable it completely or if possible some how put a switch somewhere so that i can disable it any time. any help much appreciated cause this thing is really pissin me off (especially when i have my head by the pedals trying to run wires through the fire wall). thanks, J

Re: disabling door chime
You can turn the ignition switch to the "run" position instead of the "acc" position and the key beeper will shut off. Or, you could disconnect the dome light switch in the door. It's right underneath the latch striker in the door frame. You have to press in on the switch to access the screw holding it in. I think there's only one wire to disconnect. Just make sure the wire doesn't disappear inside the door frame if you disconnect the switch.
