Lumina temp problems
Hi everyone...
I have a 97 Chevy Lumina. When I drive I have hot air and when I stop it goes cold?!? Can it be the heater core or thermostat? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Nate |

what does the temp gage do? might be thermostat stuck open, worn water pump, cooling fan coming on too early, or a slight blockage in the heater core. i'd have the cooling system flushed and a new thermostat installed, even if this doesn't fix the problem it's good preventitive maintenance.

When the car is idling the temp gauge goes up, no heat from vents, when I start to accelerate, gauge goes to middle and heat starts pouring out of vents. I am going to change the thermostat first, but I am sure there is more to it then that...

check your coolant level. the no heat from vents would occur if you had no water flowing thru your heater core also.
