ENGINE SWAP ON AN 84 v6
as you can tell by my username... i am a firebird man, never went the extra mile to get into camaros, though i do have great respect them, as they are the more popular cousin of my car... but anyway, onto my question... i just bought an 84 camaro from some guy for $150... he said it was "totaled" after being in an accident and thats why he let it go so cheap... if you can call a dented bumper and broken taillight "totaled"
... its a v6 auto as of right now... but i have an LT1 out of a police interceptor (i believe it was a 94 or 96 impala) that i bought off a local speedshop... i want to do a swap and convert it over to 6-spd in the process... has anyone swapped an LT1 into a third gen before? am i going to run into many obstacles, or will it be for the most part a clean swap? also i'm wondering what tranny goes with the LT1... i believe it's a 4L60 but i'm not positive on that one, can anybody confirm that for me?thx in advance |
