fuel pressure regulator

okay, i'm wonderin how long can i put off replacing a bad fuel pressure regulator. i think i have to replace mine but 1) i am not 100% sure how to do it (like...is it similar to the steps i took for replacin a fuel filter?) 2) i am not sure if i just want a factory replacement or an aftermarket replacement (like...is this a part that can actually affect performance in any way?) 3) i just assumed that if i ever decided to do an sr20 swap, it would come with that part. the delayed start up was bad enuf but now my idle rpms are starting to fluctuate, which is annoying.
any suggestions? the timing chain rattles too and there's a lotta wear on the cam brackets and valve cover.....i'm seriously thinking about just lettin my engine break down or somethin and use that opportunity to upgrade to an sr20 instead of payin for repairs to those parts.

i dunno id take it as an opportunity to upgrade to the Nismo FPR. FPRs dont really help preformance unless you have other mods that make you run over Rich or lean and even then its use is limited to Lean out or Richen over the entire RPM band.

Re: fuel pressure regulator

haha, seriously. a pint of juice costs like 3 bux over there.

yeah, i'm seein this part from nismo at about 120 bux also. but, could someone explain why you would want to vary the fuel pressure in the 1st place?
