Passanger power window won't go up
The passanger side window will only go down and not up. I checked the motor and it will go both up and down when I put it on the battery. The motor will go down with the passanger side switch, but the driver side switch wont do anything at all for the passanger side.

Re: Passanger power window won't go up
Sounds like you guys have a couple of bad switches.

I have nearly the EXACT same problems with my '98 Montana, and I find it hard to believe that ALL 3 switches are simultaneously bad...
Driver side switches, NOTHING in either window direction. Pass side, tries to go UP only, NOTHING for down... I am thinking it may be a BCM problem, but I'd rather find out there could be a corroded wire somewhere... Thanks, Tom |

Re: Passanger power window won't go up
Actually, I meant both Greydevil and willy2 had a bad switch.
If the window works from one switch but not the other, chances are a switch is bad. The driver's switch sends two wires to the passenger switch. At rest, both wires are connected to ground. When you push for up or down on the driver's switch, one wire is fed power, the other remains a ground. The passenger switch lets current from the driver's switch flow through it, and has it's own seperate power feed. With the dr. sw. at rest position, both wires are ground. When you push the pass. switch in up or down, power is taken from the extra power wire and fed to the window motor. Again, the other wire is still a ground. If the driver's switch has a problem in the ground circuit, and one of the wires to the pass. switch isn't grounded, you may only have operation one way. The window may work from the driver's side. You need to verify you have proper grounds at the passenger switch connector, and power coming in. Then check the switch output to see if it's commanding the window properly. BCM does not control power windows, only main power with RAP relay. |
