Power window trouble

'01 Silverado. Went to open driver side power window and heard "crunching' sound like glass. Window automatically went back up and now will not open. What could have happened?

Re: Power window trouble

sounds as if the regulator failed. Numerous posts on this board about the same problem. do a search for window regulator or power window and read the threads. I think that one post also has photos.

Thanks for the info...sounds like my problem...just went over my 36000 miles so I guess taking it back to dealer is out. Can any mechanic fix this cheaper?

Re: Power window trouble

you could ask for an estimate from a body shop or a glass repair shop.
