Re: smell gasoline when flooring it?
running rich? most cars run a lil rich at full throttle but still in the good air/fuel mixture range. Also if ur engine is still a lil cold it will run a lil rich too.

no i mean it smells like your using a lawnmower, and this happens warm or cold, just every time you floor it. could it be leaking gasoline dependent upon pressure?

Re: smell gasoline when flooring it?
possibly what I had, a slightly leaking fuel injector (only at higher pressures it would leak through the gasket). Also you may be running mega rich for some reason or another.

if it was running real rich wouldn't i smell it a little all the time? if it's a leak you think it would be in the fuel injector?

check your fuel filter for leaks and the hose condition for leaks. good time to change fuel filter too.

your exhaust gasket might be faulty too, high pressure hot gases could be causing your gasket to expand and leaking, creating that gas smell. A good way to check is to spray some dishwashing detergent on it and start it up. have someone underneath watching for bubbles when you floor it. If you get bubbles you have a leak, no bubbles, look elsewhere.

Re: smell gasoline when flooring it?
my pcv valve (abbr?) seemed to have some leaking, and i think that's where unburnt gas recirculates, so maybe that's it. gonna put a clamp on it and see if that helps. too busy w/ damn electrical problems (only have 1 headlight bulb working out of 4!!! electrical problems SUCK!!!)
