I'm only familiar with North American versions. What type of fuel delivey does this car have, carbureted or fuel injection? Does it have electronic ignition with a seperate module on top of the main engine computer (should be under the hood at the base of the windshield, left side)?

Re: Problem with 87 1,6 Golf engine:( need help
a vaccum leak isn't going to affect spark though....
hm.... which cylindar isn't firing when it's cold? have you also checking your distributor... rotor and cap, etc.? how about your wires? also what type of plugs are you using? you should use bosch supers w/ a single tip... they are the best for your motor. i'm assuming this is a CIS car... is that cylindar not getting spark... or is it just not combusting? there's a big differance there. i'm thinking that you're running rich (getting too much fuel) and only when the rpm's are up there's enough air getting in there to balance out the mixture for combustion. you might want to buy an air/fuel ratio gauge and hook it up to your O2 sensor to see what's going on there. good luck -naterkane |
