adding a conical filter?

Hey guys, I've been reading up on conical filters and had some friends in the quarter mile racing circuit that were always talking about them.

Just how much modding does a t-bird need to mount one? do you put it down where the intake for the airbox is? does it really need a change, relocation or anything for the oxy and airflow sensors? do they require disconnecting the computer? and do they change the way an engine sounds?

in short I'm asking pretty much everything about them, please give me the run down and forgive the noobness of the post, but I'm enthusiastic about the new car.
