MX3 conversions...

Hey all...this is just a thread to chat about what you think of the different conversions for the MX3.
I've seen some nasty stuff. Like that del sol rear hatch, and I'm not really a fan of the supra taillight conversion...sorry BMWm3man! I just don't get why you'd try to make your car look like something it's not. I mean, I know that If any one of us got a chance to trade out our MX3 for a Supra, we would, but we can't. And our cars aren't supras...so what's the point?

Re: MX3 conversions...

The point? well, why would you put altezzas on your MX-3.. It isnt a Toyota Altezza. Why would you put Z3 fenders on an MX-3 if it is not an Z3?

To put it simply, We are all on this site with onbe passion in mind; Cars. We all have our own cars (Or will one day) that we wish to own and they represent a part of you. I personally think that Supra Tail-lights would make my MX-3 that much different from Joe-Blows MX3 down the block. Babyblue put Z3 fenders cuz they look sweet. One mans rice, is another man's nice. Everyone has their own opinion and is entitled to it.

I dont mean to be an @ss, but I am just saying that I like the supra tail-lights, and if everyone shared the same tastes as me, life would suck.

Re: MX3 conversions...

the altezzas on my car aren't shaped differently...and to be perfectly honest, I didn't know there was a toyota altezza. They just add my own personality to my car...but I'm not trying to make it look like some other car. When you put supra taillights on your car...to me...it seems that you are taking the car's original identity away from it, and placing one on that it wasn't meant to be.
I'm proud of owning a Mazda MX3, so I don't try to make it look like anything but a Mazda MX3.

ALTEZZA tail-lights ... but you are right about adding personality to your car.. SO am I by changing my tail-lights, no one (who knows anything about cars) will never think my MX-3 is a supra.

Re: Re: Re: MX3 conversions...

ya true.... conversions to the body and such actually give the car more personality. after all if your not converting the whole body to match a specific car why not. I've seen a Civic with a stratus back-end. it looked pretty sweet. actually custom modding like that I give a extra amout of props to mainly becaue you know they put a good amount of effort making theirs really stand out! not saying just driving a sleeper is no good or only using parts "made" for the mx-3 is bogus... no just saying that the less "main stream" (kind of funny calling MX-3 parts main stream) you get the more heads it'll turn... it's the same thing with sil-eighty conversions with the 240sx/silvia/180sx model cars. just because someone puts a silvia frontend on a 180sx/240sx hatch, doesn't mean they want their car to look like a Silvia, or someone taking a silvia and putting a 180sx front end wanting it to look like a 180sx. some people like cat-eyes (aka: pop-up headlights) and some people like fixated headlights. I know I would personally love to have a RX-7 FC front end on my MX-3 not because I want my MX-3 to look like a FC, just because I like the design on the FC... same applies to gull wing doors (seen on a supra [really sweet]) or lambo doors. etc. etc.
