wiring

Ok so my cars internals are screwed as far as my stereo wires, in fact the only one that works is the ground if you can believe that. Anyway, since I don't feel like chasing wires all under my dash, I purchased a 20 amp toggle switch to emulate the circuit of the ignition. the only problem, is that the 20 amp fuse I have on the power cable that goes to the toggle blows on contact. I'm afraid that if I hook the cable directly to the toggle (also rated at 20a) that I'll blow the toggle out and still be screwed. It's been 3 months driving this car and zero tunes. I've got 2 10's on 600watts in the hatch, and 5 1/2" two way polys in the door, and damnit I want to use them! Any ideas?

Re: wiring

run new radio wires from your ignition. get rid of the toggle scenerio. ignition is black w/yellow stripe. battery is white wire. all these wires go from the ignition switch, and plug into the fuse block.

or you could also tap acc. wire...can't remeber what color off top of head.

but why is it that it won't blow a 20 amp fuse in the fuse block and it will on my batt wire? I'm using a wire that is designed for use with an amp, I just don't get why it's blowing.

you must have some wires crossing over each other or touching for that fuase to keep blowing
