I am considering purchasing a Borla muffler for my Neon. Does any one else by chance have a Borla muffler on their Neon? If so I would appreciate any feedback on how they sound and if you are satisfied or dissatisfied with it. And if anyone else has a Neon with any other type of muffler on it, post back and let me know what kind you have and if you are pleased with it, and why you are.
Thanks....

I have had a Borla system on a few of my cars. I stand by Borla, I think it is by far the best exhaust you can get hands down. I have a friend with a Neon and he has a Borla on it. It sounds pretty nice, he said it helps the car move a little too. I would definately reccomend this brand.

I've heard lots of good stuff about the Borla and knew someone who had one. Sounded pretty nice, not ricey. Dunno about power increase cuz he didn't really say anything about it, nor did I ride in his car.
I would avoid Pacesetter, they rust out. Also IMHO I don't like the way the Vibrant or Thermal exhaust looks on a Neon unless you have a body kit. I have a universal muffler on mine...its ok for sound but I lost some horsepower to it...more free-flowing, less back pressure. I am going to put the stock exhaust back on sometime in the next month. |

I have to agree with LiuBei here. I have used Borla exaust systems I feel that they blow Flowmaster out of the water. I feel they are one of the best systems out there and they sound great.

Neither are bad...they all pretty much do the same thing...and they don't sound too bad I guess...a little higher pitched then what I'd want...but all in all not bad.
Might I suggest the Dynomax Catback Exhaust system? For about the same price, you get an entire catback system with bigger piping (ideal if you're going to turbo your neon or go naturally aspirated) from 2.25" to 2.5" and it has a low deep rumble to it. It's made of stainless steel so it will last longer and stand up better to harsh weather and road salt. If you like a sleeper look, this system is awesome...it looks like a stock DOHC muffler but bigger pipes and shiny steel...and it definantly does not sound stock.

Exhaust
Hey guys, speaking of exhaust....
I was watching a show on speed channel awhile back called tuner transformation... and they had an SRT-4, and one of the mods they did was a B&B (Billy Boat) exhaust.... anyone have one of them? How do you like it? |

guys!!! don't forget the magnaflow system. I have one in my neon and it is a great performance mod. it also has the sleeper looks and comes in atainless steel. the sound is a quiet roar like a stok srt. I hate those loud fart cans out there....

Re: Borla Muffler
I would recommend the Dynomax piping with your choice of muffler. The flowmaster camaro dual tip muffler is a nice addition to the neon.
