fuel pump

my fuel pump just sound weird.when u are inside the car sounds like somebody is cutting the grass outside.does that mean that is going bad?
what's the signs of bad pump?can i rebuild.i think that i red something about rewireing or so...

also since i did the 6 bolt swap in my 95 gs-t my CEL was on right?
well i finaly went to autozone the other day to check it out.for my surprise the scanner showcode # P0115-coolant malfunction.
i knew that my coolant temperature sensor was not connected because the plug was ripped of so i couldn't put it backin,so i decided to go to the junk yard and get one-finaly find the same plug from mitsu mirage.by that time my both fans were working none stop,as soon as u start the car,so i was wondering why.so i got the plug ,connect the two wires plug it in and WOALLA...no sign of a RM ,no devil,my CEL even run away.i didn't know that that coolant temperature sensor would make such a diiference-thats why i didn't fix it in the first place.

Re: Re: fuel pump

mine makes noise like when a big truck pulls up next to you and you can hear thier pump, and i even had some chick in the back insisting that it was comming from my speaker [like she even knows about cars... lol...]. if it is like a whine sound like a weed whacker it's probly OK. if it's a sound like a weed whacker hitting a chain link fence, not good.

and for the love of god, please use the space bar after punctuation. "my fuel pump just sound wierd" is also had to understand. do you mean it just started sounding wierd, or has it always sounded this way and you are now concerned? please clarify. and use the spacebar.

Re: fuel pump

actually no.when i first did the swap i couldn't hear it.then one day i started messin with the TPS and thats when it started sounding weird(like broken CD player laggin the disc).that was about 2 week ago .since then it just got louder.also when i shut the car off ,a very weird sound of bending metal, getting louder and louder and dissapearing within 2-3 seconds.realy weird.i'm just waiting for the pump to go bad on me any time now.
another thing is that the car smell like fuel alot. at first i could bet that there was a biger ingectors installed, but today i checked and make sure i got the stock ones,so that is probably another story with the timing or so... also the car smokes black after the 5000+ RPM range which is frightening me ,hope its not internal problem, not alot but noticable.
if some body know was wrong with the fuel pump pls help.i heard from friends that the pump is acting like that before it goes bad and that the sound is goin to keep on getting louder until it brakes completely... thanks

sorry if grammer is poor...lol

Re: fuel pump

I wouldnt be risking the motor over 5k on a bad pump. A new pump (190 or 255) is only 100 bucks, and install is a couple hours. Might as well do it

Re: Re: fuel pump

it sounds like you are running rich, and it sounds like you did something when you were messing with the TPS... have you tried to put it back to fix the problem?
