replacing antenna
Does anyone know how to replace a motorized antenna on a 92 grand marquis? Seems it is in a real tight spot. I have a Metra RoadWorks replacement but have no idea how to take the original out.

Re: replacing antenna
I have a 1993. Changed the antenna to an automatic from K-Mart.
1. Turn off the Auto Syspension in the trunk. 2. Raise up front of car and use jack stands. 3. Remove right wheel. 4. Remove battery top clamp, then battery. 5. Remove nuts and push pins from wheel well. 6. From above wheel well, remove all items held in place by push pins. 7. Lift up on wheel well and be careful with battery tray area. Remove wheel well. 8. Remove plastic cover hiding power antenna with push pin at top. 9. Remove top crown nut holding power antenna mast in place. Use needle nose pliers. 10. Remove bolt holding antenna to fender. 11. Remove right kick panel inside of passenger compartment. 12. Remove cover under dashboard and under glove box. 13. Remove glove box hinge screws at bottom, open box, then push sides together. 14. Remove radio to remove antenna cable. 15. Pull antenna cable from dash then outside to wheel area. 16. Unplug two wire connector for antenna. Remove wire. |
