I can finally say "our car's"

Hey everyone.I just got home from getting my First car.95 3000GT red sad but auto and it is a base..but still livable. As i said it my other thread, i would go test drive it...and we did.Everything worked great.Altho i do have somequestions on it.But i'll save that for later, i dont have the time to go tho it.I will start another thread on Monday about it.I just wanted to tell you guy.Ahhhh...my first car....a 3000GT, i'm so happy.I'll talk to you guys later. Thanks!

P.S. If you wanted to know why i named the subject "Our car's".Its because every one says "people say our car's suck" and stuff like that.I cant really say that i own one now

Re: I can finally say "our car's"

This is one thing that would be nice to know also but i forgot to ask it in my last post.

As you all should know...when you disconnect the battary you have to re-enter the CODE on your stereo. When i got the car today it did not have a manuel...so i dont know what the CODE is.Is there anyway i can find out what it is.Or are they all the same?Anyhelp on this would be great.

Re: I can finally say "our car's"

If you get motivated you can pull out the stereo and the serial number will be on the back, then you call up the dealership and ask them to run the number, it saves them the work of removing the stereo. But I would call the dealership you got it from, as they will feel obligated to do it for free since you just bought it.....anyways good luck and congrats you lucky bastard(jk) my first car was 130hp honda accord that got raped by almost everything on 4 wheels.

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.

Congatulations!!

About the code - yeah, I knew that because I bring the car out of storage each spring and have to hook up the battery. The code would not be in the manual. Its on the security card that comes with the car which I imagine you didn't get either.

First - do not put in guesses. You only get three shots at it or you'll have to leave the car running for an hour with the door open to reset it (what a pain in the ass).

There are two ways to get the code. Have your new title and the VIN number and a Mitsubishi dealership might be able to get the code for you. The title is just in case they don't believe the car is yours.

The other way is to take the radio out of the car and look on the back of it, the serial code is there. Be prepared though, taking the radio out is no easy task.

I don't know if the dealership will charge you to get the code, but thats probably the easiest way.

I'd also call the people you got the car from and ask them if they have the code. They must have replaced the batter at least once in the last seven years....

But Congrats again!

edit: Oops. I missed Verts post there - he already told you what you need to do although I thought you could get the VIN to the dealership and they could provide the same thing as well as the serial number...

In any case, be sure to double check with whoever sold you the car, they may have jotted it down someplace.

Oh - and post some pics!
