Talking IM BACK!!! With 1971 Hemi Cuda.

The model was a little dusty when I took pics, I hadn't touched it for awhile. The rear window trim needs BMF, the bumpers need alclad II sprayed on them because they were chromed badly. I also molded the botom half of the face of the car to the body with putty so that there would be no panel line. IMO it looks better. I put a lot of primer paint and clear then sanded from 3600 to 12000. Rubbed out with Novus and BMF polish. Im just practicing with a lot of compounds and stuff lately to see which one works best for me. This is probably my favorite car of all time. I don't know I just really like it. I hope you do to.

BTW I haven't been here for so long because all I do is play Socom II Us Navy Seals online. Yesterday I played it for 12 Hours from 2 pm to 2am.
Its really addicting and I'm crazy about it.

Nope, but I know what your talking about. I have a book that has the top painted in matte black color. If the top was seperated from the model, or if it atleast had a panel line to mask off I probably would have done it.

Nice, I recently built the same kit, in the same color, it looks great with a flat black hood.

You know what, I tried blackwashing that grill but it kept getting all messed up! I couldn't get it to look right so I just gave up on it. Anybody have any suggestions to getting the lines in the grill black.

Oh yeah, I didn't know you were talking about the hood. But I guess Ill just paint it flat black. It would be a lot easier too. I thought you were talking about the roof, my mistake.

One more thing, do you guys think I should put those big Hemi decals or no.

I'm also happy to be back, but I might get a little delayed with this project. I might have to start working on it again maybe in June.

Re: IM BACK!!! With 1971 Hemi Cuda.

Welcome back with a bullet of a model. The 'Cuda owns. It was 'THE' major blast when I was in high school. Great to see it on AF. I vote NO to the HEMI decals. What kit are you building? Love the color.

You have to check out the mopar search engine <- LINKY, LINKY.

Keep up the great work.

Ok, then I guess I won't paint the grill. It would look a little more detailed though.

Hey, the link isn't working. Could you make another. The hood is in Brake Fluid right now, probably will be painted matte black tommorow.

I was thinking about putting alclad on today but I feel so lazy.

I just blackwashed a grill on my 69 charger. it was pretty easy. i poured so black paint in a jar, and thinned it down to water. then when it was brushed on, it would fill the little holes, and leaving the lines chrome, gave it the realistic depth, then i wipped the front off with a towel. looks good
