USD150 is a bit expensive, most likely due to fluctuating USD/Yen rates. There are numerous model shops in Hong Kong that stock old and new models with prices in the region of USD15 to USD25. If you guys are interested, I can buy several models and post it here for sale.

Re: At last! Models ....
Cool, you got the first-version S2000 kit. Don't forget to sand off the raised rectangles around the side "S2000" badges.

Re: At last! Models ....
First about $150. That was the whole price with delivery, taxes and stuff.
@Jay: yes, I saw the rectangle on the hood. I should sand it off? And what's with the 'first-version' kit? I know that 2004 S2000 is a bit different or are you talking about Tamiya kit that isn't molded right? 300ZX is cool isn't it. I was hoping to get a 300ZX 2+2. It's a little nicer becouse the rear end is slightly longer. But this one will do more than fine - it has a full detail engine Oh, and I also bought Tamiya putty. So there will be no problem filling holes and stuff The back side of front seats of the Civic are drying as we speak ![]() And I have another question about Tamiya putty; I got Basic gray putty in tube. Is this putty right one for doing mods like sideskirts. I think this isn't the right one, becouse it's too ... jelly? |

Re: At last! Models ....
Tamiya has two distinct versions of S2000 kit. They're both the first S2000 generation, not the 2004 facelifted version.
Yours, kit # 24211 has the softtop only, right hand drive only, one set of wheels, and only the original steering wheel. The other, kit # 24245, and only the hardtop, choice of left or right hand drive, D-shaped alternate sterring wheel for the VGS variant and two sets of wheels. Yours, being based on an early pre-production version of the S2000 has a raised rectangle on the sides, just behind the front wheel wells, where the "S2000" goes. This should be sanded down to be true to the production model. The 24211 kit is not being distributed in North America anymore. The reason I got from Tamiya is that Honda was pissed that it didn't have the LHD parts to replicate the USDM version of the car.

Re: At last! Models ....
So that's the story. Right now I'm sufring through the HLJ and saw two versions of Tamiya S2000. And it's right, the second one is a hardtop (which is not sold in Europe (the real car)) and has a Titanium silver rims and new steering. It's called V-Spec.
I was looking at this one at first, but then I saw that the early model does have painting masks so I went with that one (now when I have all the kits at home I noticed that almost all Tamiya kits have masking included). But thaks for clearing that up for me

Re: At last! Models ....
They both come with window painting masks, but the sheets are different, depending on whether you need to mask the back window of a hardtop or softtop...
![]() It's not called "V-spec," that's a Nissan naming convention. It's for the S2000 Type V. ![]() Guess that makes it ![]() .
