I have a 1999 Accord EX-V6. I got it washed today, and noticed some 'spots' on the wheels... it looks like some kind of clear laquer or plastic is coming off in 'spots'. Has something gotten on my wheels, or are they 'sealed' with some kind of plastic/laminate?

Re: Quick Question on Honda Wheels...
That's the clear coat. It it on the edge? Alloy wheels usually get a lot of corrsion around the edges that must be ground off after a while or they will have a slow leak.

Re: Quick Question on Honda Wheels...
Actually, it's not on the edge, it's pretty randomly coming off on the spokes themselves. Most are penny-sized or nickel-sized spots, but none are on the edge. How much does it cost to get this problem fixed?

Re: Re: Quick Question on Honda Wheels...
I know there are wheel restoration companies that will strip wheel, fill scratches, & fix bends for $25-$100 per wheel depending on it's condition. Check the junk yards & www.hondaautomotiveparts.com
