Distibuter difference

Hi,

Just a quick question.

Is there any real differences between the distributers available from 88-91?

I picked up a distributer from a 91 4d LX and am wondering if it will work in my 89 Si.

Thanks.

Do you have a b16a2 like your username says or the d16a6 that comes in the Si?

Actually I have both, the b16a2 resides in my 2k civic si.

Yup, my question is about the d16a6.

Thanks.

BTW, please don't reply to my post unless you have pertinent information.j/k

But seriously, any info is appreciated.

Thanks again.

Thanks but I know the basics. I'm asking if there are any functional differences, ie if I put this 91 lx dizzy into my 89 Si will it work? TTYL

Re: Distibuter difference

NO IT WILL NOT WORK. IM sure there is some way to totally ghetto rig it but it wont, it will be easier to get a d16a6 one. It would be like putting vtec in a non-vtec cylindar head. It could be done but not cost effective

lol

it would work if you swapped from MPFI to DPFI. a DPFI Si. now that would be something special...

seriously though, no it won't work. a general rule of thumb: always keep ecu, dizzy, and intake mani matched from the same make/model. your si ecu will be sending enough gas flow for multi injectors and only the spark for dual injectors.
