1.8 Eclipse non-Turbo can i get any good gains from it?

Hey my name is Teddy.

I have a 1994 Eclipse 1.8 non-turbo and i was thinking for a while whether to sell it or what? Cause it starts with 90hp is there any possibility of a large hp gain depending on how much money i put in or is it helpless with the current engine. I know the parts i can get to give it gains but i just dont know how much can i get out of the car. i dont want to spend all my money to have a car that wont pass 200hp

i didnt know they made a 1.8l in 94... (i learn somthing new everyday!) but anyways your not goin to see the power out of that motor! if you want to see real power get a 4g63 2.0l turbo motor and drop it in there... no its not goin to be easy, but it will be well worth it in the end. either that or you can sell the car and buy a turbo model!

just to get an idea of everything you need for the swap:

Motor
wiring harness
ECU
turbo, piping, and intercooler
tranny and axles(not sure if yours will bolt right up, it might)

lol I drove one last month, and I was scared... came out of my GST and sit in the GS or whatever, go on the main road, press the pedal to the medal, and??? nothing happens... its moving sooo slow, I had mir fun driving a 65HP Opel kadett in germany... I would also say get a new car or even an old 2.0 n/a will be a way better deal... It is cheaper than an engine swap... + easyer upgrade on turbo

Sell it and buy a 95-99 GST or GSX. But tomeek is right..even a n/t 2.0 L will be better than what you have right now..itll even have more potential than what you currently have..I remember driving my friends 94 GS..he was all like man this car is so fast its an eclipse blah blah blah..so i was curious how 92 hp was considered fast to him..so i put my seat belt (dont think i even needed it) on and floored it..watch the 0-60 time go in like 13 seconds..i was like YAWWWWWWWWN

Yea i think im going to sell it thanks guys for the advise cause engine swap and all the changes is going to be a little to expensive to just get a beginners HP. Thanks for the advise i appreciate it alot and ill post again when i finally get rid of this car and ill tell you what i got unless you guys have some suggestions.
