hit a big pothole... the aftermath
hex bolt popped out and the perch slid down stripping all the threads.
bottom of the sleeve split in several places. tip for everyone: GET AFTERMARKET SHOCKS WHEN YOU LOWER YOUR CAR (i JUST bought this car, i was told it had tokico blues and GC's... blown stock shocks and GC immitation)

Good example of why sleeve type coilovers SUCK! If it can do that to Ground Controls which are the best made, imagine what it'll do to some MaxSpeeds or DropZones...

i only drove like 50 miles after it broke like that...
tires look like they've been on a car for a year (hella worn on the inside). i needed to fix it fast so whats on the car right now is a dropzone sleeve... when i first bought coilovers long ago i had them for about a week then replaced with skunk2 springs. then those coilovers have been sitting in my room for this whole time... only replacement i had sitting around.

This is a perect example of why you get what you pay for when it comes to suspension. I've never heard of or seen this happen with a threaded shock coilover system such as Tein. On a pothole, your wheel should fail you before anything else. Maybe a blown shock, but nothing more.

Re: hit a big pothole... the aftermath
Damn, you would have had to completely compress the shock and then some in order to split the coilover like that.
What happened to the rim?
