Question Is there a problem with third gear?

I'm looking to buy a 2002ish Acura RsX type-s and i hear that there are some issues with some of the gears. Is it something I should worry about? If you would explain the problem that would be great - I'm sort of in the dark on this one.

Re: Is there a problem with third gear?

There is supposed to be a grind on the second gear (have had my RSX since Aug 01 and haven't had problems, but many have complained about it). I heard that the shifting technique and a short shifter can decrease the grind or even eliminate it.....

Get the RSX, you'll like it!

Post up on www.clubrsx.com and you can get some info on pricing, etc.

Re: Is there a problem with third gear?

The synchros cause a slight catch from 2nd to third. It's a factory "flaw" if you want to call it that. Shifting in higher rpms or double-clutching pretty much eliminate the problem.

Common problem with many close ratio gear boxes. RSX-S777 is correct, although it isnt nessicary a manufactors flaw.

I ask you first?
Where you live, cold or hot weather? or both?
Then ask what type of tranmission oil they are putting in it?
