i have a wipers problem!!!!

Hi i have a 94 jetta gls and my wipers work when the sun is out...but not when it rains....let me explain better....when i start my wipers if it's raining they will start wiping and then after a couple minutes they will get slower untill they stop working....i changed the relay but it still does the same problem....what could the problem be thanx for your help!

If it makes no difference if you switch to another speed or intermittent or trigger the wash function I would suspect the motor is dying or physically binding causing it to overheat. But first I'd make sure the ground wire on pin #5 to the wiper motor connector is good. If you have 12V+ to the motor pins #2 & #4 when switch is on low & high and a good ground to pin #5 but motor will not run, then it's the motor.

the washer works everytime...even when the wipers wont start...nwayz thanx for the help...i'll go try that right now.

I only meant that the wipers still won't work when you tigger the wash function, not the washer motor itself.

i just bought a new windshield wiper motor and istalled it but now i can't get my wipers to go the right direction (up first and then down).....mine go the opposite direction i tried switching the arms around but then it wont work because they touch against the fram of the car....can please someone help?....thanx

You need to be sure to wire up the motor and turn it on then offto be sure it goes to the park position before attaching the arms. If they still try to go downward when you turn them on then the linkage was attached the wrong way. The arm that goes to the motor needs to be reversed.
