I think (don't quote me on it) the b16a1 only has 150bhp while the b16a has 160bhp.

Re: B16A & B16A1 differences?
B16A = JDM 160ps (158bhp) from a DA6 XSi Integra or EF8/9 CRX/Civic.
B16A1 = Euro 150bhp from an EE8/9 CRX/Civic |

As far as I know, and have been able to find out, there arnt any differnces that are obvious. The JDM cars still have a cat etc etc The only visual differnce Iv found between the cars is the fog light in the rear bumber, and colour choice (more colours avliable in Europe). However some people who have fitted JDM ECU's have claimed that the engine ran a lot better. My guess is the EDM VTi was a slightly de-tuned ECU, probobly just a milder ignition curve to avoid any risk of detonation on less than 100 octane gas. Since many B16a powered cars have been imported here to NZ and run on anything from 91-96 with out any trouble I think its well shown that the worry is unfounded, and an easy 8ish hp can be found simply by fitting a JDM ECU, or by getting your existing one remapped by someone like Hondata.
