What's Dyno Tuning?

hey,

i've been reading alot about cars lately, and have come across the phrase "Dyno tuning" or "Dyno" alot. what exactly does it mean? thanks.

Dyno or Dynomometer is a device that your car is drivin onto and it has a cylider that your drive wheels spin on and it mesures hp and torque. Dyno tuning is when you run on the dyno and they tune your car after each run to tune the car to its maximum potential. The also dont have to run it on the drive wheels. you can dyno the engine alone without the car then they just hook everything up with wires and such. Hope that helps. and if you really get into tuning its a great thing to do.
