Steering wheel controls

If I change out my stock head unit , is it possible to still use the controls on the steering wheel? I am trying to install a Alipne CDA-9813.
Any ideas?

I have a faint memory of some aftermarket control unit that will enable the wheel buttons to work with an aftermarket head, but I can't for the life of me remember who made it! Talk to your local hi-end autosound guy and see what he says...
