Hi, just bought a 2002 Oldsmobile Alero with 92,000KM. The left front bearing started getting noisy less thn a month after I bought it and 2 weeks later, today, the service vehicle soon, abs and trac off lights are coming on each time the car is driven for a few minutes. Could these problems be related? Is this something I should expect every few thousand KM?

I am on my 5th right front wheel bearing. I get 1 month before the service engine, abs and trac lights come on. Around 2 - 3 months the bearing starts to make noise. Don't worry you get used to it. Just something you may have to live with. To fix the problem you must change the wheel bearing and that is fairly expensive. If you use after market wheel bearings check the warranty as some are only covered for 3 months. Put on a wheel bearing that has a life time warranty and learn how to change it yourself.
Don't mean to sound so positive but they have not found a solution for wheel bearing problem. |
