automatic B tranny

I was wondering if any one knows if you can bolt a auto b series tranny to a b16a or a b18c motor in a 93 civic. The problem is my car is auto and I want to put a B series motor as opposed to my D15. Do the 94+ GSR tegs come with a auto tranny or can I bolt the b20 crv tranny up and what would I have to do. Please let me know.

Re: automatic B tranny

1st generation B16's had an auto option, other than that I only know of the B18A and B18B coming with an auto tranny, and I have no idea if either will work with a B16 or B18. Why not just learn to drive a stick?

Re: automatic B tranny

JDM GSR's had an auto, along with SiR/SiRII's call up one of the online motor places, and ask them about getting you one, or if they have any.

The only USDM B-series to come auto was the LS...I know that the JDM B16A came with an AT...I am not sure if the JDM SiR tegs did, I'll trust jcrx on that one. You can fit an LS Automatic, or any of the others, into your civic. Some will tell you it can't be done...etc...but it can. The LS AT is a little big for the civic engine bay, so it takes a little modifiying of the frame rail, more wiring then for the electronically controlled AT...but it can be done.

I can tell you right now, converting it to a 5 speed it probably easier, and probably take a little less time. Don't let that discourge you though if you want the auto b-series. As I said, it can be done.
