hlp cooling problems
i have a 95 n\a talon and it was brought to my attention that my 2 cooling fans do not run wen car is started.(well at all) i checked to c if the motors them selves were bad 1 is shot and the other 1 wrks fine. so i thought it would be the relay. so i arked the relay and the fan came rite on full speed. so i figured since the other is bad and the relays r the same i would swap them. and wen i turned the engine on it started rite up and the fan was fine. now the little SOB stopped wrkin again so i took it off the road because i noticed heat spots on the block. i needed this car and thats y i ran it while fans were not wrkin. but i dont want engine to take a shit on me. sum1 plz hlp me and if my engine is shot give me web sites to get a new 1 or a rebuilt one.thx

Re: hlp cooling problems
FRIMX;
I don't think you'll have a problem finding a replacement fan at an auto parts store. I looked on line at Express Auto Parts, and they list several replacments, ranging from $75-$165. The cheapest way to go would be to pick one up at a bone yard out of another Talon. Don't really understand the "hot spots" on your block. The fan only sucks air through the radiator to aid in heat transfer, so the car will simply overheat if it isn't running. Chances are you can get away with taking short trips, or cruising at steady speeds. The fan typicaly only comes on in stop and go or "around town" type of driving. Mark |

Re: hlp cooling problems
i had a simular problem but both fans should not come on only if your running the a/c, my radiator fan was not comming on cause my thermastat was bad and not circulating water to the thermo switch, when you stop does your radiator gargle? this is a for-sure sign that you are not getting any circulation to your switch wich would cause your fan not to come on!
