Lowering price

Ive got H&R sports and Koni Yellows waiting to go on to my car but all the shops around here want to charge me a damn arm and leg for labor . lowest pricing i got is $350 for installation of springs and shocks + alinement. this sound like a fair price or should i keep looking around?

Re: Lowering price

you should do it yourself its not that hard andthen you can take it to get aligned but you wont be able to adjust your camber unless you buy a camber kit which is why i ride around monster truck style lol of course the labor thing i work at a shop and our shop time is 40 an hour which is relatively cheap so just think about it and decide because if you have the money then you can always pay

http://www.binghamtonlife.com/manual...s/91-18-17.jpg since you dont have to use your springs over again you dont have to have a spring compressor and your coil over should just go together

Re: Lowering price

that's like 6-7 hours.. there's no way a mechanic is gonna spend more than like 3 hours on that job.. its pretty simple after you've done one or two..

I'm looking to get my suspension installed on my a4 (jack got stolen + I'm feeling lazy) and I'm not even planning on spending close to that...

Just remember if a mechanic does it and screws it up they will fix it, if you do it and screw it up you're hosed. Luckily for me one of my friends is a certified honda mechanic, and another is the manager at one of the local midas shops.

Re: Lowering price

If you're gonna do it yourself, I would suggest having someone there with you that knows how to do it. If it's your first time, it can get pretty confusing I think. I learned how to do it years ago but with a friend that knew how to do it. He just supervised me as I learned.

Also, when taking the original shocks/springs off and disassembling it, watch out...it's gonna pop hard without spring compressors. It's scary as sh*t waiting for it to pop.

I just replaced mine this weekend. Just bought a CRX and it had Neuspeed Race springs with stock shocks. So I didn't have to worry about the "pop". I replaced it with KYB AGX shocks and H&R springs.

Good luck. It's a fun learning experience.
