Question Replacing the thermostat

What's involved int replacing the cooling system thermostat? After location the thermostat, it doesn't look like an easy job. Can anybody express some experience?

Thanks

Re: Replacing the thermostat

I did replace the thermostat and it wasn't that easy.
so,be ready for about 1,5-2 hour job ,if you never done something like that before , there is little trick when you doing this -:
after you take all possible bolts and the nut - there is one more nut behind the nut witch hold the cooling line and it not very comfortable place to unscrew him,but once you unscrew him you will have room to reach for the second bolt witch hold the goose-pipe .
This job only hard because of this little trick.
goodluck.
buy the way you want to replace the thermostat?

I was relacing the thermostat because of the lack of heat. Just a thought. Maybe I don't really need to, but when you think of the lack of heat, I alway think of the thermostat first.

Thanks

Thermistats are tough on the 3.4 engine. My dealer charged me nearly 300.00 to replace mine. Never have them touch it again. You may well need to disconnect the cross-over pipe from the front exhaust manifold to gety at the bolts on the housing.
