tranny going out

Well I haven't posted a thread in a while so here goes. My transmission is not doing so great. It typically grinds whenever I shift the car hard. This leads me to believe that the syncros are slowly going out. .So I guess a transmission upgrade is in order. I'm going to be on the look out for a turbo tranny coming up here soon. Would I need the turbo driveshaft to install it? Anyways off topic my friend and I started at the base of a hill in town and raced up it. He was driving his stock 300ZXTT and needless to say I got killed, but it was fun. Especially the part where second and third both grinded into gear. I should probably change my tranny oil.

Re: tranny going out

No thanks. I'm going to wait a while before I buy a new trans. I'll be looking for a turbo tranny anyways, but I appreciate the offer. Thanks. Haven't seen any good bodies around here.

I know you can get JDM TII trannys with low millage from a dude in flordia. If your more interested Ill get you more info about him. I think they run about 350. Another option is have it rebuilt and cryo treated. Right now im wondering myself weather or not to rebuild my GTUs (shorter ratios) tranny or go to a TII.. matter of fact im going to start a thread about it

I thought those two transmissions were the same. I'm pretty sure they are. Sure if you could post the info for me that would be great thanks.

Re: tranny going out

Is it true that the tranny from the 2nd and 3rd gens are interchangeable?

Also, heard that some late 80's/early 90s pickups from ford and mazda had trannnies that could fit also. The article/site whatever said that those had stregth comperable to t2 trans.
