95 Avenger New Move

I don't know how often this board is visited, but I wanted to throw this question out there.

I am moving from Virginia to Las Vegas, NV in 3 weeks.

I own a 1995 Avenger.
I recently had the ball joint replaced, due to a faulty recalled job done on it.

I wil be driving to Vegas, and want to know what I should have done to the car to make this trip.

It needs the timing belt replaced.
How much does that usually run?

The car runs fine, except the idle is rough. The dealership stated that it is due to the timing belt.

There are a few other issues that cause me some concern, but I hate to look like an idiot taking it in to the dealership and saying it feels wound up really tight while driving.

If anyone can help me out it would be a great help!!
