n13 tacho broken

hey im new to all this, i need some help please

i had my n13 engine replaced with another one, same type no conversion, now the tacho which was working is not working, it is stock in the dash.
I am aware that the tacho is electronic so:
is there wires or a plug or something which may have been left off or something or is it likely that the tacho is stuffed, does the board need to be resoldered
please help
