can't change defroster setting

I need to know if the whole climate control module in dash needs to be changed. Won't change no matter what is selected..only get air blowing from defroster on windshield. Can't find any vacuum lines to module. Is selector electronically controlled only or vacuum?? 2001 Lumina

Re: can't change defroster setting

I have a 92 v6 3.1 and have this same problem. although mine also blows to the floor at the same time. Never from the front vents. I am not looking forward to summer with only cold feet and head, hopefully someone knows how to get it blowing out of the vents.

I have a 92 Euro and have just recently had the exact same problem. All the lights would light on the climate panel but nothing would change...still on floor and dash. What i did was trace the vaccum lines from the vaccum ball(behind front fender on drivers side)up and notice that one was broken down beside battery....the hardest part to fixing this problem is taking the battery out. Will have to remove battery to trace all vaccum lines. Can easily pick up vaccum lines at any scrap yard for around 5 dollars and will be the same off of many chevrolet models with the 3.1 engine. Hope this is of some help...good luck
