Angry Rear End Upgrade

I Have A 89 Rs 5.0 Tbi When I Peel Out The Rear End Shakes, Should I Just Replace The Whole Rear End With A 98 Ss Rear End That Has Disc Brakes? Please Help I Need To Solve This Problem Soon. I Could Find The Rear End For 250.00.

Re: Rear End Upgrade

you would have to change brake lines, or at least modify the ones you have, dont think they mount in the same place. but like i said, the shake in the rear end, is probly not in the rear end, but more likely the mounting of it, with bushings and weak stock control arms. puttin the new rear would be pretty sweet, but probly wouldnt solve your problem. even 2002 camaros have wheel hop because of weak oem equipment. its just something the camaros are known for. thats why there are aftermarket parts to address the problem. i had a bushing fall out of my rear control bar, and it would bang as i went around corners, and gave me bad wheel hop, possibly something similar happend to you, just check around, look for something that is out of place or all together missing. if you have a digital camera, try to take a pic, and post it, and ill do my best to see if i can see anything obviously wrong.

Re: Rear End Upgrade

Ive seen one 4th gen, at one wrecker.. in my entire province.. That sucks..

BUt im gonna have to agree with 89iroc.. Its not going to correct your wheel hop.. It would look real good though.. I think the ss rear end is wider than the one on your car so your back wheels will stick out a bit more...

Camaro's are notorious for having a brutal suspension set up.. Get some good control arms, and a torque arm, urethane bushings and the car will handle much better
