Max Speed Governor/Limiter

In a 97 Grand Am se witha 2.4L, how do you disrupt or remove the governor/ speed limiter? All i want is to be able to go faster but whenever i want to my governor kicks in at 105mph and it PISSES me off! Please help....assistance with the Max speed limiter only not the max rev or anything like that.
thanks
Stephen

Re: Max Speed Governor/Limiter

Guys, if you rendered the max speed governor, you also lose your rev limiter, they are the same thing. The limiter is controlled electronically through the ECM , electronic control module. I'm not even sure it can be done, the control module may keep the vehicle from starting if the limiter was disconnected.

Re: Max Speed Governor/Limiter

Please Correct me if I am wrong but I believe you can get a new chip programmed for your car or reprogramm the chip for your car to remove the govenor. And you can still have a rev limiter I believe. Again I am kinda new at this so correct me if I am wrong but this is why I was looking at buying one in the future.
