Borla's exhaust system

Hey guys..

I was wondering if any of you has Borla's exhaust system (stainless steel full exhaust system) on his TrailBlazer/Envoy or at least had the chance to experience a Borla.

- How is the power gain?
- Have you noticed anything good/bad?
- Sound. Loud or just smooth?
- Does it worth spending 1G for it?
- Would it affect on the engine in a bad way later after long term use?

.. Thanks

Re: Borla's exhaust system

If you have the 4200 i have no clue but any exhaust system on the 4.3 sounds like crap.

borla is awesome

http://www.cardomain.com/member_page...page_id=409773

looks great!! but if your looking for a quiet exhaust its far from that... well put it this way at 500 rpm w/ no gas it's almost silent, maybe a slight rumble, but under exceleration it comes alive... i also have a K&N intake so i'm sure there is alot of noise as a result of the increased air flow...

Re: borla is awesome

Have you had any problems with the K&N and your emissions controls? I want to put on the K&N but I have to go through admissions every couple of years and if the “service engine soon” light is on, you automatically fail and have to get the problem fixed and then retest. Was it difficult to install? It looks fairly straightforward.

I like the look of the dual exhaust and am hoping to do it sometime soon. Do you have a part number for the exhaust system you added, or was it a custom job?

Performance International has the best prices.... at least in 02 they did!

http://www.performanceintl.com/shop/...NVOY&year=2002

my K&N was a NON-Street Legal Off Road Kit (only one out in 02) but it looks alot like and probably is exactly the same as Prod=57-3036 below

these are the new kits....

i put both the exhaust and intake on in my driveway... the hardest part was getting off the stock exhaust... had to cut it, but if you have or know someone who has a lift it would be real easy... otherwise jack it up on the frame so the wheels can hang, this way its easier to get the exhaust over the rear axle. other than that, it was simple... just follow the instructions, get a little dirty, and listen to the growl when your finished!

p.s. i wouldn't worry about the check engine light, i've had both installed since 02 and never had a problem... cant really say much about my emissions haven't inspected it yet... still have till 07 for that!

Re: Borla's exhaust system

Thanks for all of the information! I am definitely going to look into adding the K&N this summer and maybe the exhaust. Performance International still has some really good prices.

Thanks again.

RE: BOrla

I have read and I forgot where however you can add up to a 30 Horsepower gain by adding dual exhaust(I am not sure which brand) to the envoy...This was from one of the engine designers so I believe it is fairly accurate...

I have a slightly used Borla system available for sale.

I am selling the Borla Cat back exhaust system that was on my 2003 GMC Envoy SLT 4.2L I-6 engine. This is the Borla catalog number 140006. Borla says will fit the 2002 thru 2004 TrailBlazer and Envoy 4.2L I-6. May fit the 2005 model, better check with Borla though. Will fit the short wheel base only. The system has about 12K miles on it. Some light scuffs on the tips, may polish out, as they aren't deep or scratched. I believe the system to be complete, but may be missing a clamp or two. Don't think it will fit the '05 Denali I now have, so before putting on Ebay thought I would give the members here a shot at it.

Price is $650.00, including shipping (large and heavy box) to lower 48 states. No other shipping available outside of U.S. Will do paypal, if verified.

PM me if interested.

Bill
