Lightbulb Leukemia Update....

Hello again everyone. I now have the laptop here in texas with me at the center. I arrived yesterday, and got situated in, and met all the fine people here at M.D. Anderson center. As with any hospital it is cold, but I guess its as good as it gets. Dr. Koller is nice, he is trying to make me feel as at home as I can. We will discuss treatment options tomorrow, my mother and father are going to help me with decision making, as I am only 18. Right now i just cant sleep. So i figured I would log on here and let you guys know im still around. DONT WORRY ABOUT MY CAR!! it is in good hands. I am very scared of what will happen, and I have many questions. I guess all I can do is ask everyone to pray for me, and to take it day by day. Anyways, I need to get off of here and sleep, damned nurses wont leave someone alone. Anyways, goodnight all, wish me luck, I will update you guys periodically. TTYL.

Hey bimmerboi, if you want something to read, this link has helped me a lot. I don't have leukemia, but a general purpose in life is important.

Hope you feel better, and I'll be praying for you.

I'm not religious, but I'm hoping that you'll find the peace that you need.

Re: Leukemia Update....

Stevie,

First of all you are in our prayers.

I'm assuming you are here in Houston. Have you and your family been in contact with the local Leukemia Society? I can put you and your family in touch with local resources. My wife and I train for marathons with Team in Training, a group that benefits the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Lastly, do you need anything and/or would you like some company? I am not working at this time and have the time. I could bring you some Bimmer magazines.

Good luck and Godspeed.

Re: Leukemia Update....

Good luck, I pray everything works out! This is a lot of weight for an 18 year old to carry, but hang in there! You got a Bimmer waiting for you when you beat this thing!

Exclamation The update.

Yes I know this isnt exactly periodically, but I have been really busy, what with treatment, and making new friends. They have alot of people here my age, I met this girl that is my age named courtney, we hang out alot, share stories, and hang out in the snacks. There is this lil group here, like support, and we meet up every week to talk. It helps to talk and get stuff out in the open, your fears, hopes, dreams and everything you want out of life. Treatment is going well, I havent been as sick as i was last time. I am losing a little weight, but its not really noticeable. Dr. Koller tells me he is optimistic, though it is too soon to tell exactly what will happen. It's funny to me, how things like this can bring people together, i am gay, but Courtney is becoming a good friend. Daddy had my car drove over, so I can at least have a way around, I am optimistic, and just wanted to let you guys know I am still around, and that I miss talking on here, though i didnt have much time to do so. Thank you P10, I would love company, but I am a little nervous about meeting people offline, I apologize. My stomach feels all twisted and cramped right now, I am going to go now, just wanted to thank you guys for all of your support. I will post again when possible. Thanks all!!

Re: Leukemia Update....

Hey, no problem. Just thought I'd offer some help given my wife's and my involvement with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Good luck.
