Urgent PLease Help!

I have a 1999 Isuzu rodeo with 69k miles. THe engine blew on me and I was wondering if anyone else had the same thing happen to their car and if so how you went about getting it fixed. When I was driving there was a loud knocking sound coming from the engine. I had the oil changed recently so there was oil in the car. If anyone had the same problem please respond or if you have any suggestions on what to do it would be greatly appreciated.

The first thing I would do is pull the dipstick and see if you have any oil on the stick.

The place that did the oil may of forgot to put oil in.

How long has it been since your last oil change? Isuzu are know to burn through oil, possible reasons are listed in my FAQ.

Have there been others with this happening? Yup, I've read at least 25 posts like yours, and they are all due to a spun bearing due to low oil.

I hate to say this but if you didn't purchase an extended warranty you're out of luck.

You can purchase a used engine at:

good luck!

I also know this vehicle. It was well maintained and always had oil in it. Does anyone know of any issues with the 99 Rodeo and oil levels/pressure possibly causing a rod to blow. The engine had oil in it until it died. Is there a history of blown engines in the Rodeo's? If so, where could I get that information. I think that it is way too premature for engine failure at 69k for a well maintained vehicle. Thanks for your help.
