Re: help build my car

We will be glad to help you build a fast car. Step 1 is punctuation and grammar, I really wouldn't want to read 50 posts of that. Step 2, don't build 'a 10 sec sleeper' just keep going faster. 10 seconds is 500+whp and not many people can seriously expect that.

if your planning on goin that fast a auto would be reputable only because they shift quicker than a manual... and you will never miss a shift, now you might say that they are way slower, yes and no... with a nice size stall/torque converter and a shift kit, you can pretty much make a auto as fast as a stick (and you dont have to worry about burning up the clutch or having to replace it)

Re: help build my car

I thought that most of those shift kits are fake. Have you found some real ones?

Re: help build my car

You could probably get an intake and exhaust for that much.

do the normal free mods...

hard intercooler pipes
exhaust
boost controller
intake

then with whatever you have left over start working on fuel

AFC + data logger is pretty much your best bet cause i dont believe they make DSMlink for 1st gens yet
injectors
fuel pump

that should take care of all that money, maybe even a little more and you should definately notice an increase in power with those mods!

Re: help build my car

I don't think I would make it to a local event... unless local means Alaska. I'd recommend SBR, RRE, and FP the most. You can learn a lot from vendor sites, but half of it is marketing pitch. www.slowboyracing.com www.roadraceengineering.com www.forcedperformance.com

Re: help build my car

SBR... succesfully pissed me the hell off. I ordered my evoIII 16g from them 2 weeks ago. I live 2 hours away. it STILL isn't here!!! I could have driven down and got it from them at the store 10 times by now... BUT MY CAR DOESN'T RUN!! sorry... just needed to vent. they also haven't sent the fmic yet either. Other companies to check out are dsmparts.com and extremepsi.com. good stuff. extreme has AWESOME shipping and really good prices! I got my fuel kit (680 injectors, walbro 190, and apex s-afcII) in 2 days! You can't beat that.
