Angry Braking Vibrations

This is only my second time here.
Last ime was helpful so here goes.......

New tires (Michelin Hydroedge),
New brake pads (lifetime),
New rotors,
New tie rod ends......

but I still have sterring wheel vibration when braking.

The vibration worsens with increased speed.

Help?????....

Re: Braking Vibrations

Your situation sounds more like an out of balance tire if the vibration is there when not braking also. Did you have it aligned? There could be other front end parts, like lower ball joints, that are starting to wear out. Another totaly possible situation could be from overtorquing of the lug nuts. This would give the symtoms of a warped rotor as it can sometimes warp the rotors. A simple first step may be to loosen and retorque the lugs to spec with a torque wrench in a crisscross pattern and see how things go.

I have the same problem. The first time I put on brakes myself cheap lifetimes, didnt shave roters, shook bad. Then I took it to the dealer, 345.00 later I still shake. They said all after maket parts for some reason dont work. So dont spend to much money trin' to fix it, but if you find a solution please reply to me.

I have a 1996 Sable. Same problem with braking vibration. I alleviated the problem by shaving the roters about every two years. This fixes the problem every time. Someone told me that I was not tightening the lugs correctly and causing uneaven wear.
