Re: i would rather walk than be seen in a Kia

Then again, people were saying the same thing about Jappers many years ago.............

Kia need some time........The Optima isn't that bad, the Sorrento is pretty good and the Rio makes sense for the price it's sold at. Kia have certainly come a long way in the last few years.

Re: i would rather walk than be seen in a Kia

That's because they deserved it years ago. They have MUCH improved over the years. Kia is improving quite rapidly according to all the reports I've read, they're still a little bit behind the pack in overall reliability and quality, but not that far behind. Give em a few years.

lOl Kias are useless pieces of trash. I think they should really become the next Fiat. You know: "Fix it again Tony."

Crap, utter Crap.

Care to provide me a list of Kias factory recalls or common reliability problems associated with Kias??? The quality of plastics etc. is pretty bad, but mechanical reliability is guaranteed.

u guys gotta think, kia is a south korean car company that has been around for only 10 years, they merged with hyundai(hyundai bought kia for $5,600,000 which is pretty sad, and hyundai has only been around for 20 years(in the US), while nissan honda n toyota have been around for a long LONG time, even american cars are more reliable than korean cars, the only thing i like about them are the warranties, and so far i i haven't seen a 10/15/20 year old hyundai have you? i've seen lots of old ass cressidas/camrys/corollas/civics/accords/240sx/mustangs/Z's but hyundais? no, also the resale value goes down too much the moment u buy it, unlike any other kind of car company

you guys should also wonder why kia/hyundai doesn't have an option to look for used vehicles on their website.. and daewoo doesen't even exist in the US anymore, they came to the US in 1999, only had 5 branches in north america, went bankrupt in 2002, then got bought by GM, then stopped making cars completely

anyways all in all they seem to have a really bad history, mostly finance and reliability,(not to mention extremely low resale values, example a 94 kia sephia sells for about $700, while a 94 civic sells for about $4000), and their refinement/quality is nowhere near any leading car companies now, but with that "industry leading" warranty, and their shit low prices they will go nowhere but up

i got this from: http://auto.consumerguide.com/auto/u...ivisionid/1605
"Hyundai: Used Car Reviews & Ratings
This South Korean auto manufacturer first appeared on U.S. shores in 1986. Until recently they offered only low-price subcompacts and were dogged by reliability problems. In recent years they have moved up market with a number of vehicles and now offer one of the most comprehensive new-car warranties in the business."

Daewoo have by no means stopped making cars, thier new cars are the best-yet. Most notably the Lacetti, which is sold in the US as a Suzuki something-arather and the super-mini Kalos, sold in the US as the Chevrolet Aveo.

They also make the Matiz City car and Tacuma mini-MPV

The first time our SVT Focus was in the shop (don't get me started) It was still under warranty and they provided us with a Kia Rio for a rental. The thing had trouble getting up to highway speed without killing us. The second time (same problem different mechanics) we got a Toyota Corolla.

Re: i would rather walk than be seen in a Kia

in europe we see a lot of kias and daewoos every day.

they make ugly cars. they never had these "special lines" but they're not expensive and and have a low consumption so people buy them.

kia sorento is not so bad. has a nice 3.5L V6 engine
