Free Installation (hidden fees?)
The head unit im about to but comes with free same day installation. However in fine print it says additional parts and labor exra, plus 4$ material fee. What is the hidden value that im going to have to pay? Id rather do it myself if its cheaper. But free install shouldmean free install. How much roughly is the hiden fees?

Re: Free Installation (hidden fees?)
I've installed my own head units several times and have only had 2 installed at a shop. Usually you won't pay any more than the $4 material fee if your new deck will just slide right in. However you will pay more if they need to do any custom fabrication or wiring. I would go ahead and have them install it since it will cost you at least $4 for the connectors and misc parts if you do it yourself.

Re: Free Installation (hidden fees?)
yea we went and they said 15 for dash kit and 15 for wiring harness.. so $30 plus the like $5 fee. How did this free installation go from $0 to $35 lol wtf. But i guess we have no choice because if i install it, we cant return it. Does that sound about right or is it a rip off though, 15 for dash kit (94 Accord LX sedan) and 15 for wiring harness.

Re: Free Installation (hidden fees?)
That sounds about right, think Best Buy in my area had the dash kit and wiring harness together in a package for like $25-30. I'm sure you could probably find both kits for a little cheaper than $30 if you look around at local shops and online. So I guess it's pretty good paying $5-10 for installation. But ALL stores do that kind of thing with advertised prices. They'll do what they can to make it seem like you're getting a killer deal when really you're just making out ok. It is kind of sketchy that you can't return it if you install it yourself though.
