Question MAS questions

Alright, I know your all going to think that I'm crazy for trying to make an Oldsmobile go fast, but guess what, we all have to start somewhere. This is my project car until I get something better this summer.

Now, with that said, I would like to take out the MAS from the intake. As you can see from the picture on the site above, I already replaced the stock filter and main intake with a performance filter. I want to replace the rest of the intake too, but the MAS is in the way. Since I cant take that out, (with out paying $2000+ for a VPC), how can I make it to allow more air into the engine? I've read that I should take out the lil honeycomb "vent" to allow some more in. What do you guys think I should do?

Also, what else can be done to the car? I've replace the plugs and wires, but I still want more. I will be putting on an exhaust system in a month or two, but what else can be done?
Thanks a mil.
