My buddy has a G-tech pro. It's pretty cool, and fairly accurate, but it's no substitute for a run down the 1/4 mile.

Everyone here rates the Val 1 as the best. Though, if you don't want to get caught, just don't speed

I've got a Valentine 1. Best $800 I've ever spent Best range on Ka band on ANY detector I've ever used, about 4 times that of the (supposedly good) Uniden GPS detector I've had before it...And you can disable any bands leaving only the ones actually used by the cops ( eliminates the falsing 99.9%). Plus its the ONLY detector which lets you know whether you're being zapped from behind

Re: g-tech pro and Valintine1

doesnt the g-tech take into account the weight of the car, and how fast it's accelerating, crucnhes some numbers, adds some magical pixie dust, and *poof* you have a horsepower rating!....?

Re: g-tech pro and Valintine1

G-Techs can be pretty accurate.

If you put in the exact, and I mean EXACT weight of the car when it does the run (and that includes driver, fuel etc) they can be 95-99% accurate.

But if you weigh your car, then go pick up a mate, fill the tank up and have a big feed before useing it then its accuracy will decrease quite dramaticly.
Its a simply case of Bull Shit in, Bull Shit out.
