Texas MR2, California Smog

Hey guys,

I'm lookin to purchase a 93 NA MR2. Problem is the car was bought out of Texas and the manual says it wont pass smog in California. Is this a myth or not? If so, does anyone have an idea of what it would cost to get it CA compliant? I would look for another MR2 but this is the cleanest 93 I've ever seen. The paint looks brand new, the interior is perfect and it drives perfectly. The owner is currently looking into the matter but I would just like to get the community's advice! Thanks in advance.
