Question Good Deal or Not ? ?

I've never owned MB but have lead on a low mileage 1995 S500 Coupe.

A little background; I'm an American working in Saudi Arabia (have been hear way too many years, but that's a different story). The car was purchased in Germany, sat parked in the garage of a Saudi Sheik in Morocco for several years and was only used a few weeks each year during vacations. Due to lack of use, the car was imported into Saudi Arabia 2-3 years ago and had been used relatively little since (Saudi women don't like crawling into the back seat). Car has always been kept in an air conditioned garage, has about 44,000 miles on it.

Anything particular that I should be looking at on this model?

I can do the basic mechanical checks, and will have the local MB dealer do a prepurchase checkup.

I'm mostly looking for input from previous/current owners as to what kinds of things are prone to go bad over time?

I understand the MB 5 liter engine is one of their better power plants? Anything in the engine/transmission/drive train that needs to be checked?

Although the car was bought in Germany, the instrument clusters are all in English units (Miles, degrees F, etc). Does this indicate the vehicle was meant for the US market, and what is the liklihood that the car can be shipped back to the US without any hasssles?

Thanks in advance for your input and opinions.
