Angry What next

Dammit, I know there have to be serveral million ppl out there with the same kind of shitty luck as me, but I am feeling particularly picked on these days. Most of you know my past hard luck shit, divorce, forced sale of dream home, division of assets, blah blah. But when my hard luck turns to my kid thats when I can't take it anymore. Ok he's a perfect healthy 3 y/o a few weeks ago he got chicken pox, well I have no vaction yet at my new job so I talk to the boss and he is understanding about it and gives me some time off without docking my pay. Nice guy indeed. So the chicken pox are gone, today me and my son were going to the company picnic and all of a sudden he starts to scream bloody murder, I pull over and ask him whats wrong and he say daddy my head hurts. I feel his head and he is fucking burning up, well when I travel with him I travel well prepared (future parents take note here) I open his backpack (of everything and more you could ever need to travel with a kid) and grab the thermometer out. No expense spared here it is the temporal heat scan type with digital readout, well I took his temp it was 105F, I'm like shit! so I turn around to take him home and by the time we get there (like 15 minutes) his temp is at 99, so I'm like ok dude go lay down in bed and I'll get you some water and anything else you want. Well he falls asleep, and its only 5pm. He sleeps for 45 mins and wakes up screaming and he is acting delerious so I take his temp again several times just to confirm, its back up to 105.6F. I rush him to urgent care, they are fucking closed, next stop the godforsaken ER at PV hospital. Well after having to hold him down while they take a urine sample, (yeah tube up the yang ouch!) blood sample (I.V.) and a chest x-ray I am in shambles worried to death about him. Long story short he has pnuemonia, and will be down for awhile. I guess we are lucky they found the cause, and it was not something worse, but know I have to ask my boss for more time to care for him, cause the ex cannot get anytime off. I called the parents and ended up paying 756.33 for a plane ticket out here so my mom can watch him. She will be here tomorrow, but still I hate asking for time off since I've only been at the new job for 3 weeks.

Also on a side note when the ex showed up tonight at the ER (cause I called her) something weird happend and that just really sux cause I was over her and moving on, now with my son being sick and us all being in the same place together it reminded us of being together and how much we miss each other. Awww crap, I want to get back with her but I don't. I guess this is bound to happen and will probably bug me until the day I die.

Well that was my Sunday, I skipped some of the details and probably misspelled a few things here and there but my adrenaline is still pumping pretty hard. Such a horrible feeling when your kid is sick and there is nothing you can do to help other than what I ended up doing.

Oh did I mention my insurance will not be effective until May. Yep whatever charges were made at the ER tonight are solely out of my pocket. Guess I should fill that paperwork out to draw on my 401k for the hardship clause.

Fuck

That is horrible. There are very few things worse than your kid being sick. I can't even imagine what you must be going trough.

About your Ex be careful, you are in a vulnerable emotional state right now, who woudn't be with their kid sick, so make sure you don't get hurt again.

All I can say is that I hope your kid gets better.

Re: What next

Best of luck to you man. I have been on that road before and it is never a fun thing.

I am glad they figured out what was wrong with your son. Keep us posted on how he is along the line. As far as the ex is concerned, remember she is called an "ex" for a reason. At one time you determined that was the best thing for you. Odds are, it still is.

Re: What next

Keep us informed mate. I hope things start to look up pretty soon. Goto the ex for support - but not rekindling the relationship
