Question Will a TH350 handle 400hk? (An a little bit more)

Basically as the topic says.

I am planing to buy a 1970 Camaro with a modified 350 engine, and the owner asumes the horsepower to be around 370-380hk.

The gearbox is a as the owner calls it, a modified TH350.

Now, with a modest driving I guess that the TH350 could be sufficient, but whit a right foot full of led? (meaning hard on the gass)...

I am probably going to do 1 or 2 track racings a year. (Both strip, and circuts).

Basically I want a stick shift, but they are hard to come by here in Norway to a reasonable price.

2nd question:
I have never owned a Camaro before, is there anything particular I should be aware off while sightseeing the car?

Re: Will a TH350 handle 400hk? (An a little bit more)

um...... whats a hk??? do you mean hp? as far as the TH350 holding up, depends on what hes done to it. a quality rebuild kit with a shift kit should handle around 500hp, my rough estamate. the TH350s are pretty bullet proof i wouldnt worry about 450hp at all.

as far as the camaro question. look for rust at the rear window, down at the bottom, look for rust around the wheel wells, and the front corner of the doors, where the drain holes are, they often become clogged with leaves and hold water, making them rust. when you test drive it, take it around some windy roads (which im sure there are plenty of in norway) and feel for worn out bushings, youll know because things will sqeek and rattle around, might even get a few clunks here and there. look at tire wear for indications of needing an alignment. other than that...

ha en hygglig dag (i think i spelled that right)

Tusen takk! (Thank you!)

allthough, if I might. It's spelled "Hyggelig". But I almost allways spell it without the "e" myself

Oh, hk... should be HP as in HorsePowers.
